Tile Calculator
How many tiles a floor needs, with waste.
Tiles
40
Square tiles. Measure the actual tile if the pack size differs.
Worked example
A room 4.2 m by 3.1 m is 13.02 m². A 600 mm square tile covers 0.36 m². With 10% waste, you need 40 tiles.
FAQ
- Are the tiles square?
- Yes. One size is used for both sides. For a rectangle, use the paver calculator, which takes length and width.
- What does waste cover?
- Cuts, breakages, and a spare. 10% is a common allowance. Use more for a diagonal lay.
- Does this subtract cupboards?
- No. Measure the floor you will actually tile, and enter that length and width.
