An 18 m run with posts every 2.4 m needs 8 posts, counting both ends. Two rail rows need 14 rails, because there are 7 bays.

- Yes. It is the number of bays, plus one.
- What is a rail row?
- A horizontal rail. Two rows means two rails on every bay. Three rows means a third rail.
- Are palings included?
- No. This page counts posts and rails only.
