Crypto Momentum Scanner

Ranks USDT pairs from the last closed candle, volume versus the prior 20 candles, and a high break. A description of what already printed, not a forecast.

Ranks USDT pairs by a short-window momentum score: volume versus the last 20 candles, the move on the last closed candle, and whether price is breaking that window's high. CoinGecko trending is a multiplier, not a trigger.

Timeframe

The score describes the last closed candle. It is not a forecast, and it is not a suggestion to buy or sell.

Waiting for the first scan.

How the score works

Each coin uses the last closed candle against the previous 20 on the timeframe you pick.

Volume score is how far the last candle's quote volume sits above that 20-candle average (8× averages maps to 100). Price score is the candle's percent change, capped at +8%. Breakout is 100 if the close is above the prior 20 highs, otherwise 0.

Those three mix as 50% volume, 30% price, 20% breakout. CoinGecko trending (and Reddit mentions, if enabled) then lift that base by up to 25%. A coin that is not moving stays near zero even if it is trending. A high score is not a prediction that the next candle continues.

Badges are not part of the score. Extended means the window move is over 15%. Low liquidity means 24h USDT volume is under $1M.

What a momentum scanner is

A crypto momentum scanner, or breakout screener, ranks coins that are trading unusual volume and pushing through a recent high. It is a watchlist, not a prediction. Use it to see what is moving on 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 1 hour, 4 hours, or the daily candle, then check the book and the chart yourself.

How to use it

Pick a timeframe, set a 24h volume floor so thin pairs drop out, and sort by score, volume, or the window change. Open a row for the three score legs. Auto-refresh keeps the table inside a minute while this tab is visible. Pair it with the profit, position-size, and liquidation calculators in Crypto if you then size a trade — those pages still use numbers you type, not this feed.

How the score is calculated

Volume, price, and breakout are normalised to 0–100, then mixed 50/30/20. An 8× volume spike or an +8% candle maps to 100 on that leg. CoinGecko trending multiplies the mixed base by up to 1.25. Social attention never creates a high score on a quiet coin. Flags such as Extended and Low liquidity sit beside the rank; they are not inputs to the number.

Worked example

On the 15-minute window, a coin printing 4.2× its 20-candle average volume, up 5.1% on the last closed candle, and closing above that window’s high, with a CoinGecko trending listing, lands near the top of the table with the reason “Volume 4.2x average, up 5.1% in 15m, breaking 20-candle high, trending on CoinGecko.”

FAQ

What is a crypto scanner?
A screener that ranks many pairs instead of one ticker. This one scores short-window quote volume, the last closed candle’s move, a 20-candle breakout, and CoinGecko trending. The score describes that window. It is not a forecast and not a recommendation.
How often does the data update?
The server caches Binance tickers and candles for about 60 seconds, and CoinGecko trending for about five minutes. Turn on auto-refresh to pull that cache about once a minute while the tab is visible.
Can this predict pumps?
No. Unusual volume and a breakout describe what already happened on the last closed candle. It cannot tell you whether the next candle continues, stalls, or reverses.
Why Sydney, and what is the 451 fallback?
Binance market-data endpoints refuse some regions, including many US IPs. The scan route prefers Vercel’s Sydney region. If Binance still errors, the page falls back to CoinGecko 24-hour movers and says short-timeframe volume is limited.
Is a CoinGecko key required?
No. A demo key in COINGECKO_DEMO_KEY raises the rate limit. Without it, trending and names still load when CoinGecko allows, and the Binance scan still ranks coins.
Does this connect to a wallet or place orders?
No. It only reads public market data and ranks it. Size and risk live on the Crypto calculators, using numbers you type.
